A stepmother opens the wrong door at the wrong moment and sees more than either of them planned. The embarrassment does not last the evening: she turns up in his bedroom in very little while his father is a floor below. The premise
An accident is the opening move. No one sets out to be seen, and the series starts from a moment that can still be explained away. What it does with that moment is the story: she stops treating it as an accident within the hour.
The father is the pressure. He is downstairs, the house is ordinary around them, and the distance between the two rooms is the length of one staircase. Each scene is measured against how long it would take him to climb it.
